3 years old. Rubiks cube. 114 seconds.

If you've seen the film 'The Pursuit of Happyness' you'll know that the turning point of the main characters life is when he manages to solve a Rubiks Cube during a taxi ride.

Well if that is the case, he deserves to be swept aside from his high-paying broker job and replaced by this little one. Not only does she manage to solve the cube with relative ease, she does it in a TV studio with an audience and hot lights and a big video screen behind her. Talk about pressure!

And for the record, back in the day I never solved it. I could get the top two layers but never managed to go all the way to a solution. After a while I learned to pull the thing apart and put it back so it was 'solved'. I know how hard this is, and this little girl gets the Enfant Terrible gold star on her forehead for today.

Kung Fu kid!!!

This is just a pure out and out funny post. Doesn't reeeeeally have anything to do with being an enfant terrible, but it has indeed inspired me! Over the next few days I will hunt down some little tackers breaking boards with the sides of their hands and post them.

Kids love kung fu, don't they? I was just emailed the other day from a friend who told me that his son timmy (5 years old) has just won a medal for kung fu in his first contest. Good on Timmy! But isn't it cool that they have kung fu contests for kids who are 5 years old? It would definitely be a happy hunting ground for people wanting to enter funniest home video contests!

BMX Bandit

This kid is 5 and is tearing up Woodward like no-one's business.

For those un-skateboard-y types... Woodward in the USA is a bit of a mecca for those who like to ride ramps. They have indoor and outdoor areas, foam pits for when learning new tricks, and resort-style accomodation.

What's great about this kid is that you see him take a couple of slams, but before you know it there he is again trying it and eventually he gets it. A mere slip of a lad, but certainly a giant inside.

Those trainer wheels came off real early for this one...

Rappin' young' un

So at the age of 5, were you watching sesame street and bewitched by Enid Blyton? Or were you listening to Dr Dre and imitating the moves of Xibit?

What an awesome kid! Watch him bounce across the stage and you can see the intent on his face while he is rapping. But really, the best part of the video is the face of the host once the kid starts rapping. Pure Gold.

Some people just aren't able to cope with a true enfant terrible.

Amazing drum solo

Anyone who has been to a concert knows that a certain amount of awe is reserved for a drum solo. This kid inspires a deeper kind of awe... like, how the @$#% can he do that when he's still just SEVEN?

He truly rocks. This is one boy destined to never join a boy band.

Hero. No other word for it.

This has just come out in the news today. In Detroit, USA, 7 year old Alexis Goggins actually jumped in front of her mother to protect her from a gunman.

She took 6 bullets for her mum, who was hit a couple of times as well. One of the policemen involved in the case was quoted saying "What a courageous, courageous little girl. You see more bandages than child. It's a horrific sight." She has lost the sight in one eye and will carry wounds for the rest of her life. Though the truth is that she is extremely lucky to be alive.

The gunman was an ex-boyfriend of her mother who obviously has paid a terrible price for picking the wrong guy. But what a kid! When that little girl returns to school she will be held in awe by students and teachers alike.

I haven't been able to find out if there is a fund to help with her medical expenses, but when I do I will certainly be helping and will update this site with the details.

Balancing act

Seriously, just watch the video.

What this kid can do is absolutely remarkable. I know that apparently kids have better balance in general as they have a lower centre of gravity (which is why they are such demons on the ski slopes), but this is truly truly remarkable.

I know nothing about him. I don't know his nationality. Just really, go watch the video and you will understand.

Someone has been watching Ronaldinho videos!!

I never really enjoyed watching soccer until I went to live in Europe for a few years. Once I was there I really began to appreciate how deeply rooted the fervour for the game is. And while the major criticism of soccer is that often there isn't as much action in scoring (oh, the thrills of a 0-0 draw!!) , once you begin to watch it a bit you find that the real enjoyment is the general play.

The core of the entertainment is the skills. Amazing skills often don't lead to a goal, but sometimes they do and that is when it is the best time to be in the heart of a seething mass of humanity singing songs you don't know the words to bounding up and down in the stands.

I have a feeling little Marcus Kaasa will be watched by millions one day too. A kid just shouldn't be this good at the age of 9.
